Do you have a pair of frayed hem jeans? I love the frayed denim trend, so the other day I headed out to Ann Taylor LOFT specifically for a pair of frayed hem jeans. But, instead of actual denim jeans, I found the most stylish and flattering skinny cargo pants and frayed hem skinny pants.
These pants are just perfect for the Spring and Summer. I’m so excited to tell you all about them – you will love how slimming they are! In addition, they are a bit more dressy than jeans, which makes them extremely versatile.
I also tried a pair of skinny cropped jeans and a couple of tops that I’ll tell you about.
I’m so happy I found these frayed hem skinnies and skinny cargo pants! Honestly, I’ll get a lot more wear out of them than plain denim jeans…keep reading to see why!
Shopping for Ankle Length Frayed Hem Jeans
I shop fairly often at LOFT. Usually, their jeans and pants fit me well, so I stopped in to shop for some frayed hem jeans in an ankle length to update my wardrobe for Spring and Summer. (If you haven’t already, check out my post on the frayed denim trend.) Although I wasn’t shopping for tops, I did try on a couple that caught my attention as well.
Even Better Than Jeans – Chic Moto Skinnies
I wear jeans a lot, don’t you?
When I put together a casual outfit, more often than not I start with a pair of great-fitting jeans. Then, I add a casually elegant top. Finally, I accessorize to best suit the occasion, usually with higher-end items.
So, yes, I was searching for frayed hem jeans. Instead, I found something even better. But what could be better than a great-fitting pair of jeans? Well, these pants!
The Perfect Alternative to Jeans
When I saw these moto-style frayed skinny pants in an ankle length, I knew immediately that I had to try them. The sleek lines, front zip pockets, and back welt pockets make them super flattering! They have lots of stretch, so they are comfortable to wear. And, they can totally take the place of jeans in a dressed-down outfit.
The off-white color can be worn year-round and would look polished with a jacket and heels for casual office attire.
They are made from a cotton stretch twill and come in several colors. This makes them nicer than regular denim blue jeans. In addition, the frayed hem is more conservative than many frayed hem jeans and pants I’ve seen.
This, I think, makes them more suitable to dress up a bit.
I especially love the black pair! These would be great with heels and a dressy top for date night.
This blue pair is fabulous! It’s like wearing jeans, but not – it’s such a cool color!
I like these pants so much that I bought all three colors. Just the other day, I wore the blue ones, and am planning to post about my outfit. Here’s a sneak peek!
Cropped Skinny Jeans
Besides shopping for frayed hem jeans, I wanted a traditional pair of crops for the Spring and Summer. These cropped jeans were exactly what I had in mind. These are perfect to just throw on all Summer with a pair of wedges and a stylish top!
A Couple of Cute Tops
As you can see in my dressing room photos, I tried a couple of tops that day in addition to the pants.
This printed sleeveless peplum top is really sweet, and the material is dressy. Generally peplum tops look good on me, but they need to be more fitted at the waist.
This particular top is meant to be flowy so it was not for me. I could have made it work by bringing it to my tailor for alterations, but I really wasn’t in love with it. So, I decided to pass.
I did purchase this white tee. It’s a cute little tee, dressed up with eyelet trim. I like the way the trim is set in vertical lines down the front. This gives it a slimming effect, which is always a plus! 😉
Skinny Cargo Pants
These skinny cargo pants are also pretty awesome! They are incredibly stretchy and quite comfortable. Again, I love the ankle length – no bunching at the bottom. And you will not believe how soft they are!
Don’t Miss Out!
If you’re looking for frayed hem jeans, give these frayed hem skinny pants and skinny cargo pants from Ann Taylor LOFT a try. They are available in several colors, and are so much more versatile than jeans! But, the fit is every bit as good as your favorite skinny jeans.
Both of these pants have lots of stretch, and are very figure-flattering. Since they fit so well, I bought several!
I really think you will love them. Let me know!
